AirTrap® Calibration Kit – Factory-Verified Calibration Kit for 15 l/min Air Sampling Pumps
The AirTrap® Calibration Kit is the quick and reliable solution for flow verification of your air sampling pump – directly on-site, without adapters, without recurring calibration. Specifically designed for use with AirTrap® sample cassettes and all 15 l/min air sampling pumps, including the Sporecyte™ Professional Air Sampling Pump. A correctly calibrated pump is the basis for reproducible, legally sound measurement results in mold and indoor air quality analyses.
What makes the AirTrap® Calibration Kit special?
Unlike generic flow meters, the AirTrap® Calibration Kit is a fully pre-assembled, factory-verified system with an AirTrap® inlet adapter developed by Apacor. You open the packaging, connect the kit to your AirTrap® XL sample cassette, and verify the flow – without additional hoses, adapters, or adjustments.
Included in delivery
Fully pre-assembled AirTrap® Calibration Kit with the following components:
- 1× Dwyer Series VF Visi-Float® flow meter (rotameter)
- 1× HDPE elbow, black (1/8" NPT × 1/4" hose connection)
- 1× PVC hose, transparent (50 mm length)
- 1× Apacor AirTrap® inlet adapter
Why the AirTrap® Calibration Kit?
- Factory-verified – the kit is factory-calibrated and does not require recurring calibration. No annual service costs, no downtime, no calibration protocols to maintain.
- No adapters required – the integrated AirTrap® inlet adapter connects the kit directly to the sample cassette, without pump-specific hardware.
- Universally compatible – works with all standard 15 l/min air sampling pumps.
- Low total cost of ownership – one-time purchase price, no follow-up costs over the entire service life.
- Field-ready robustness – designed for repeated use in harsh outdoor conditions.
- Fast, repeatable commissioning – simple workflow minimizes setup time.
- Direct reading – Visi-Float® acrylic body with stamped scale, no batteries, no display.
Application in 5 steps
- Prepare pump: Make sure the sampling pump is switched off. Check hoses for cracks, kinks, or contamination.
- Connect kit: Connect the AirTrap® Calibration Kit to the AirTrap® sample cassette. Ensure secure and airtight connections.
- Start pump: Switch on the pump and set the target flow rate (15 l/min).
- Verify flow: Allow the pump to stabilize for a few seconds. Confirm the flow rate using the scale and adjust the pump if necessary.
- Completion: Switch off the pump, remove the kit – your pump is verified and ready for use.
Recommendations for practical use
- Store the calibration kit dry and dust-protected
- Keep hoses clean and dry to maintain measurement accuracy
- Perform flow verification before each sampling campaign
Why pump calibration is important
The flow rate of an air sampling pump determines the actually sampled air volume – and thus the quantitative significance of the laboratory result. A deviation from the target rate leads to over- or underestimated spore concentrations. For legally valid expert opinions, remediation verifications, and insurance cases, a documented calibration of the pump is often a prerequisite. On-site verification before each sampling campaign is therefore good professional practice.
